The below video is definately worth looking at

Rip offs

I have heard of where the energy providers do not pay for the power generated by the home solar system. You are basically at there whim as to weather you get paid. I read of it happening a lot. Best to go batteries and control your own future. No bills and bother with, and not even an electrician if the system is of low voltage. Just keep your usage low and balanced that is generate what you use.

This was bound to happen

Solar Bonus Scheme

On Friday 13 May 2011 the Minister for Resources and Energy Christopher
Hartcher announced a reduction in tariff rates for participants in the Solar
Bonus Scheme from 60 cents per kilowatt hour to 40 cents. The Association
has written to the Minister expressing our concern for this retrospective
policy decision, which will come into effect on 1 July 2011. Rural
Australians who have installed larger systems are to be the heaviest hit by
this change, with many having borrowed money to participate in the Scheme.
The Association has called for, as a minimum, assistance in the form of an
interest free green loans scheme to be made available for farming businesses
who have invested in solar generation as a result of the scheme.

Lets produce more power!

More power I personally am reducing power consumption, Here is one way get a small TV and sit closer to it. My lap top screen is bigger than my 42 inch plasma TV it depends where you view it from. The power consumption of the lap top is minuscule compared to the plasma TV. Then I also have a hobby as well and the power consumption is 90% less than the TV.

Solar panels and social security

I have just heard weather it be true or false that the government is reducing payments of pensions because the amount earned in the way of a reduction of your electricity bills because of solar panels. That is if your panels produce say 600 dollars for the current bill then your pension is adjusted accordingly. Now if you are in this situation then get off the grid and store the energy in batteries and use an inverter. Then it is a case that you top up from the grid as you require at the normal rate.
