Stroke of the pen

In one stroke of the pen the electricity companies get free power, Yes it has happened and the only way is to remove the wires from your house cause they are going to charge you for there wires being there.  Solar rebates have been reduced and will fall even further and you paid for it. Yes I had my reservations and if I had the roof space I would have got caught as well. Have you heard there is no free lunches and now there is no free electricity. Now if you have a cool million dollars to spend then here is the place to spend it. Removing the plastic from the oceans water now there is a place where there is millions to be made ....... Working in international waters you wont have to pay the taxes in the expensive country's........cheers

Country Energy

They (Country Energy) got too greedy so I have had the power cut off and will now use a generator It is cheaper for me this way. Now they get nothing..... greedy bustards .

Its now time to look at solar electric and it is the best time now with the government grants to buy one. If I had enough roof space  for one I would get it on. If you are a low electricity user then it will pay back quicker than ever. You could end up getting paid with a 1.5 kw system.

Solar in the Kosciusko

Solar hot water in the high country, Gets broken every year when the temperatures go below zero. The solar collector freezes and splits the pipes and you have another leak, How do you fix such a problem? Well you have to use a heat exchanger and run a liquid that doesn't freeze at Zero degrees and the problem is solved. Heat exchangers are just two pipes inside one and other to separate two liquids one is the heating liquid and the other is the heated liquid. Simple it is. The system is modified by placing a pipe inside the tank at the top of the collector the more surface area the better the exchange of heat. Heat exchangers are used in boats so that fresh water is run in the engine when it is in salt water and corrosion is reduced to a minimum.

generate your own power

If you use a generator to do the washing it would cost about say 2 dollars and if you captured the heat for water it just might be economical instead of the grid power. Its getting close. If you get a generator from Strath Steam in South Australia and burn your junk mail and twigs from the local park and your tree wind fall in your yard it would be cheaper than the grid. Other places of fire wood is pallets and off cuts from saw mills.Try your council tip and take all there timber at a fixed price. You could run the generator from the humane waste if you put in a digestor,these are similar to a septic tank and the fuel is waste product which is also a greenhouse gas.Check it out for your self...

TV comparison: LED v LCD v Plasma TVs

I did some comparisons of TVs and how much they cost to run and it looks like the most economical to run don't necessarily are not the cheapest to own and use in the long run as seen by this table below. Notice the price of electricity at 19cents/kilowatt.
